I would like to create an App to help bring together African Wikimedia Projects in one place to avoid duplication and wastage of human resources even from the conception stage of projects in Africa.
Problem to be solved:
The Wikiprojects Bulletin Board will help solve the issue of project duplication by simply listing all executed projects, all running projects and all projects officially under consideration for execution.
Prospective applicants can simply search to know if they are duplicating a project or if a project is good to go. I would like the opinion of everyone on the idea.Problem to be solved:

A good approach, as this will ease the reviewing process as searching will be at ease, so also why not in the app create sub-section that will ease it more. That is a search by priorities or ideas, like a heading for Gender Equality, knowledge gap, edithaton, Awareness campaigns, and lots more, i think it will make it look more fruitful and straight forward. This is amazing, not only for African communities but for everyone, this centralized database of projects and ideas can be extremely helpful. I’m not sure about one thing, is “Wikiproject Bulletin Board” is an already existing project, or still just an idea?
If it’s a new idea, then we need to search for similar previous ideas. If there are similar existing ideas, is/are they fully functional right now? If yes, can we add our ideas on top of that? If no, why did they fail? We need to understand that cause we won’t want our project to fail for the same reason.
If it’s an already existing project, we need to understand how we can make people use that widely.
We need to do some “needs assessments”, we need to understand what people want.
Another question is, do we have the technical capacity for this whole thing? If no, how can we achieve that? Isn’t it better to build it on any existing technology (like this forum or meta) so that we have enough reasoning for that and don’t upset slightly conservative people and create an impactful platform for all?
Again, thanks a lot for the idea, it’s amazing to see that people from all diverse backgrounds are trying to think about the future of our movement and trying to make an impact! You know, this is really empowering and makes the movement truly open to all!
Thank you @Mrb_Rafi for your response. This is a new idea, that I hope we can all work on. It is solving the problem of project duplication. It will be designed as an online and offline app that will update automatically.
A needs assessments survey will be carried out to know the needs of the people. Thank you for your active participation. It is inspiring!
Kindly noting that this is pretty similar to the Baserow data that we have built together with many affiliates at the Wikimedia Summit. Although we’re not sure we’ll keep using the same platform, our eventual goal is to have something like this for Movement Strategy activities on a permanent basis.
