Platform mechanisms for safety
Providing for Safety and Inclusion involves creating platform features that ensure the safety of contributors. Some of those features, for example, can help in anonymizing users, such as IP masking. Those features will not necessarily be applied to all Wikimedia Projects in the same way. Risks and benefits should be considered in each case.
- Establish built-in platform mechanisms aimed at the safety of contributors in their contexts (e.g., anonymization mechanisms). To be assessed for opportunities and risks for particular projects or contexts including the risk of harassment and vandalism.
